How to start learning eCognition?
The information and learning resources of eCognition split up into the following areas that help you entering the world of eCognition.
Documentation:
- User Guide: This is a good starting point to get familiar with workflows using eCognition software. You get to know the world of object based image analysis where classification and feature extraction offer new possibilities and lead an image analyst to new horizons. The User Guide is meant as a manual to start using eCognition software realizing simple workflows but also advanced classification concepts. Work through the chapters to improve your image analysis knowledge and get an idea of a new language in image analysis – not only object but also in combination with pixel based image analysis.
- Reference Book: This manual comprises a list of algorithms and features to look up how they are calculated in case you need information and explanations on supported parameters and domains. If you need to understand more of the calculations, if you want to understand what is behind all this e.g. why does the Multiresolution Segmentation lead to great results or how distance is calculated in eCognition – then this Reference Book is the right choice to work through.
- Resources - Release Notes: Information on new features of the current version.
- Resources - Installation & Licensing and Resources - System Requirements: These documents guide through installation and licensing settings.
- Resources - Software Development: SDK - API Guides are intended for programmers using eCognition's API.
